Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), the largest natural lake in Wales, is a long, open freshwater lake in southern Eryri (Snowdonia) that is excellent for paddleboarding.

The lake is rural; Bala has no station, so the nearest railheads are Wrexham or Barmouth, with a bus or drive on to Bala.
