Rogate Bike Park is a privately-run downhill and freeride centre in West Sussex, set in a steep slope of woodland on the South Downs escarpment near Petersfield. It’s the most serious gravity venue in southern England and the natural training ground for riders who don’t want to drive to Wales for a full day of jump lines.
What to expect
Four graded downhill lines plus a jumps and skills area. The blue and red lines are accessible to intermediate riders running full-suspension bikes; the black lines are pro-style with proper drops, gaps and table-tops. No uplift — riders push or pedal up between runs, which limits laps but keeps the place quieter than uplift-served parks. Sessions are run from morning slots and need pre-booking through the Rogate website.
Practical notes
Open weekends and some weekdays April through October; check the calendar before driving. Full-face helmet, body armour and full-suspension bike strongly recommended — no hire on site, so bring your own kit. Petersfield is 10 minutes’ drive with cafes and accommodation. The site is small and friendly — the regulars know each other and are welcoming to first-timers who’ve put the time in elsewhere.
