The Pembrokeshire coast offers some of the finest sea kayaking in Britain — clear water, sea caves, stacks and seabird cliffs strung along the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

What to expect

Sea caves, arches and hidden coves, with seals, seabirds and dramatic cliffs; conditions range from sheltered harbours to committing open-coast paddles, so it suits a wide range with the right planning. The Stackpole and St Govan's stretches are especially scenic. Check swell, wind and tides carefully before any open-coast trip.

Getting there car-free

The nearest stations are Pembroke and Pembroke Dock, with launch points around the south Pembrokeshire coast a short bus or taxi away.

Is it good for beginners?

Sheltered harbours and guided trips are fine for beginners; the open coast is for experienced paddlers in settled conditions.

When is the best time to paddle here?

Late spring to early autumn for the calmest seas and the best chance of settled weather.
