New Forest Water Park is set on a former gravel-pit lake near Ringwood on the eastern edge of the New Forest National Park. It’s the southernmost cable wakeboard park in southern England outside London and serves the wider catchment between Bournemouth, Southampton and Salisbury.

What to expect

A full-size cable with a basic obstacle park — kicker, slider. A separate beginner cable runs at slower speeds for learner sessions. The site also has paddleboarding, kayaking, an inflatable aqua park, and a campsite — which makes it a useful family or group weekend destination rather than just a wakeboarding venue. Kit hire is full; lessons cover absolute beginner through to intermediate.

Practical notes

Open April through October. Wetsuit: 3/2 summer, 4/3 from September. Bookings via the New Forest Water Park website. The on-site campsite is well-set-up for families. Combine a wakeboarding session with New Forest walks, a coastal day at Lulworth Cove, or a Bournemouth beach day.

Who it suits

New Forest Water Park suits beginners and families, pairing cable and tow wakeboarding with an inflatable aqua park on the lake. The setting near Ringwood makes it an easy day out on the edge of the New Forest.

Getting there car-free

The park is near Ringwood, which has no railway station. The nearest railheads are Brockenhurst and Bournemouth, with a bus or taxi covering the last stretch — so a car is the simplest way to reach it.

Quick answers

Is it suitable for beginners and families?

Yes. Alongside beginner wakeboarding, the inflatable aqua park makes it a good all-round day on the water.

Can you get there without a car?

It is possible via Brockenhurst or Bournemouth and a bus or taxi, but a car is the easier option here.

When is it open?

The water park is seasonal, running through the warmer months; check opening times and book ahead in summer.
