Update, June 2026: Liquid Leisure Windsor has closed. The wake park closed to the public at the end of November 2025 after its lease was not renewed. Please check for alternative wakeboarding venues in the area before planning a visit.

Liquid Leisure is the largest cable wakeboard park in Europe — a 1.4km full-size system plus two smaller learner cables, set on a former gravel quarry near Windsor about a 30-minute drive west of London. It's been the standard introduction to cable wakeboarding for everyone within reach of the M25 since the early 2000s.

What to expect

Three cable systems serve different ability levels. The two-tower beginner cable runs at slower speeds with no obstacles and is where most first-time riders learn. The five-tower full-size system runs faster with a full obstacle park — kickers, rails, sliders — and is where most regulars spend their session time. A separate winching pool teaches starts to absolute beginners.

Practical notes

Open Easter through October. Lessons book through the centre directly; walk-up sessions are possible midweek but weekends fill fast. Full hire of board, wetsuit, helmet and impact vest is available — most riders use it. The on-site beach club and restaurant runs late into summer evenings. Wetsuit thickness varies — 3/2 in summer, 4/3 from September. The site also runs an inflatable aqua park alongside the cable, useful for non-wakeboarding friends.

Who it suits

Liquid Leisure suits the full range, from absolute beginners on its two smaller learner cables to advanced riders on the full-size system — which is why it has long been a standard introduction to cable wakeboarding for the south-east.

Getting there car-free

The park is near Windsor, west of London. The nearest stations are Datchet and Windsor, both reachable from London Waterloo or Paddington, with a short taxi to the lakes from either.

Quick answers

Is it good for beginners?

Yes — the two dedicated learner cables make it one of the best places in the country to try cable wakeboarding for the first time.

Can you get there without a car?

Yes, with a short taxi. Train to Datchet or Windsor, then a cab to the park.

When is it open?

It runs as a seasonal cable park, broadly spring to autumn; check the calendar and book ahead in peak season.
