Kernow Adventure Park is set in a flooded former granite quarry — Kessel Quarry — near Falmouth in south Cornwall, a 21-acre site of clear, spring-fed water ringed by granite walls. As well as cable wakeboarding it offers an inflatable aqua park, open-water swimming and stand-up paddleboarding, which makes it more of an all-round water-activity day than a wakeboarding-only venue.
What to expect
Wakeboarding is on a cable tow in short, instructed sessions suited to beginners and improvers, while the aqua park and open-water swimming make it a good choice for mixed-ability groups and families. The quarry setting is sheltered and scenic, and sessions include wetsuit and buoyancy-aid hire.
Getting there car-free
The park is near Penryn and Falmouth on Cornwall's south coast. Penryn and Falmouth Town stations sit a short way off on the scenic Maritime Line branch from Truro, with a bus or taxi covering the last stretch to the lake.
Can you get to Kernow Adventure Park without a car?
Yes, with a short connection. Train to Truro on the main line, then the Maritime Line branch to Penryn or Falmouth, and a bus or taxi to the park.
