Wild Shore Dundee is Scotland’s only cable wakeboard park inside a city — set on a former dock at City Quay near the heart of Dundee, with views back across the city and the Tay. It opened in 2019 as part of the wider regeneration of the Dundee waterfront and has built a strong local rider community.
What to expect
A full-size five-tower cable with a graded obstacle park — kicker, slider, rail. A separate beginner cable runs at slower speeds with no obstacles, where most first-time riders learn. The site also has an aqua park (inflatable obstacle course on the same body of water) which is useful for non-wakeboarding friends. Kit hire is full — board, wetsuit, helmet, impact vest.
Practical notes
Open April through October. Bookings via the Wild Shore website. The dock water is colder than inland UK parks — 4/3 wetsuit most of the season. The cafe on site is decent. Dundee city centre is 5 minutes’ drive; the Discovery Point museum and the V&A Dundee are walkable. Combine a wakeboarding day with a Tay-side coast walk or a trip to St Andrews.
Who it suits
Wild Shore Dundee is Scotland's only cable wakeboard park set within a city, part of the regeneration of the Dundee waterfront. It suits beginners and improvers, and pairs wakeboarding with an aqua park for a wider day out.
Getting there car-free
Being in the city, it is one of the most accessible wakeparks in Scotland by public transport. Dundee station, with trains along the east-coast network, is a short distance away, leaving only a brief taxi or bus to the waterfront site.
